Carl Grimes

Biography

Carl Grimes, HHS, CIEC, is Director of Healthy Homes for the Hayward Healthy Home Institute and Hayward Score, in Carmel, CA. Since 1987, he has consulted nationally as President of Healthy Habitats LLC, drawing on his own recovery from an unhealthy home to guide clients ranging from families to architects and remediators. A past President of the Indoor Air Quality Association and past VP of Practice for ISIAQ, he chaired ASHRAE Technical Committee 1.12 on Moisture Management in Buildings, SGPC10 Interactions Affecting the Achievement of Acceptable Indoor Environments, helped author the 2025 ASHRAE Mold Position Document, and workgroups writing allergist practice parameters. He wrote "Starting Points for a Healthy Habitat" and speaks internationally on indoor environmental quality, centered on people.
