Biography
Matt Jones developed and serves as the lead paint program manager for BrightFields, Inc. a Terraphase Company in Wilmington, Delaware. He has worked in lead-based paint evaluation, risk assessment and abatement project design for 30 years, having managed and conducted over 4,000 lead paint projects in several states. He developed a Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) training course and has served as Principal Instructor since 2010, training hundreds of students how to conduct lead-safe building renovations. In 2023, he was appointed by Governor John Carney to serve as the State's at-large member of the Delaware Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Advisory Committee tasked with making recommendations on policies, surveillance, and interventions to reduce childhood lead exposure. In addition to having completed thousands of lead paint risk assessments, clearances and paint inspections, Matt has designed and conducted district-wide detailed fixture evaluations for lead in drinking water in schools, prepared complex lead paint abatement project designs for historically and culturally significant structures, has developed OSHA Lead In Construction medical compliance programs and managed multi-million dollar HUD lead paint abatement grants.
