Biography
Mike Walker is a Program Associate with the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI) in Detroit, where he provides training, technical assistance, and in-field support to nonprofit partners delivering home repair services. He works directly with community development organizations across the city to strengthen how home repair programs are implemented—from assessment through closeout. Mike previously ran his own assessment company and has a wealth of construction knowledge and management experience. Mike is well-known for his hands-on approach that assists community partners in clearly articulating and documenting imminent health and safety home hazards. Mike also plays a leading role in advancing cross-program coordination, helping align home repair efforts through multiple funding sources. When not working, Mike is also a musician, chef, and photographer among many other things.
