Biography
Presently, serve as a Senior Public Health Advisor/Project Officer of the CDC Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) for regions 4, 5, 7, and 9 for over three years. Dr. Williams received a Doctor of Science Degree in Public Health and an MPH from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Previously served as the State Project Manager for the Louisiana Healthy Homes and Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program housed at the Louisiana Department of Health for 10 years. In her role as the Louisiana CLPPP PM, she supervised and secured grant funding, worked with key stakeholders, agencies and community partners, updated policies, and procedures to assist in efforts to pass pertinent legislation, spearheaded education, and outreach activities of the Louisiana’s CLPPP and supervised Regional Outreach Specialists and Environmental Specialists. She also supervised the HUD Lead Based Paint and Hazard Control Grant in Louisiana. Over the last twenty-five years, she has presented at numerous national meetings and conferences. She presented at the American Maternal and Child Health Program (AMCHP) Annual Meeting, the CDC CLPPP 30th Anniversary Event and as a Podcast Speaker for the ASTHO Public Health Review Podcast on Child Lead Exposures. Dr. Williams is a certified Lead Abatement Supervisor, Healthy Homes Specialist and previously served as an Adjunct Professor at Dillard University and Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She is a Wife, Mother and Mentor to many upcoming public health practitioners.
