Biography
Lily Bermejo has over 18 years of experience in environmental protection, including 15 years serving tribal governments and three years with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. Their passion for environmental education began early through hands-on work with the Phoenix Zoo and the Vermont Institute of Natural Science, where they created and delivered engaging programs for children, youth, and families. Throughout their career, they have presented at national conferences, tribal forums, universities, and community events across Arizona, leading Earth Day celebrations, school presentations, and community workshops. Their work covers a wide range of environmental topics, from air and water quality to land reuse, environmental health, and career pathways, and is deeply rooted in community engagement. These experiences now guide EEEI’s mission to provide accessible, culturally relevant, and empowering environmental education, with a strong focus on tribal and underserved communities.
