Biography

Senator Bob Archuleta represents California’s 30th Senate District, serving portions of Los Angeles and Orange counties. A Democrat and U.S. Army combat veteran with a long record of public service, Senator Archuleta has focused his legislative work on veterans’ issues, community safety, and housing policy. He authored legislation to expand the definition of substandard buildings to ensure health and safety protections apply to all structures used for habitation, strengthening code enforcement and safeguarding tenants’ rights regardless of zoning status. He also championed efforts to convert unused state property into supportive housing and treatment facilities and has worked to secure funding for permanent supportive housing for veterans and other vulnerable populations. Archuleta serves as Chair of the Senate Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs and sits on multiple other committees, bringing broad policy experience to his work on behalf of Californians.
